Ingredients
- 2 lbs little smokies cocktail sausages
- 1 cup grape jelly
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- Toothpicks for serving
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Slow cooker or large skillet
- Mixing bowl
- Whisk
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Serving spoon
- Toothpicks
Steps
- Prepare the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, whisk together grape jelly, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard until well combined.
- Slow Cooker Method: Add little smokies to slow cooker. Pour sauce mixture over sausages and stir to coat evenly. Cook on low for 2-3 hours or high for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Stovetop Method: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add little smokies and cook for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally. Add sauce mixture and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens and glazes the sausages.
- Final Touch: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. The sauce should be glossy and coat the sausages well.
- Serve: Transfer to a serving dish or keep warm in slow cooker. Provide toothpicks for easy serving. Can be kept warm for up to 4 hours in slow cooker on warm setting.
