Ingredients

  1. 2 lbs little smokies cocktail sausages
  2. 1 cup grape jelly
  3. 1 cup barbecue sauce
  4. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  5. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  6. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  7. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  8. 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
  9. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  10. Toothpicks for serving

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  1. Slow cooker or large skillet
  2. Mixing bowl
  3. Whisk
  4. Measuring cups and spoons
  5. Serving spoon
  6. Toothpicks

Steps

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, whisk together grape jelly, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard until well combined.
  2. Slow Cooker Method: Add little smokies to slow cooker. Pour sauce mixture over sausages and stir to coat evenly. Cook on low for 2-3 hours or high for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stovetop Method: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add little smokies and cook for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally. Add sauce mixture and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens and glazes the sausages.
  4. Final Touch: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. The sauce should be glossy and coat the sausages well.
  5. Serve: Transfer to a serving dish or keep warm in slow cooker. Provide toothpicks for easy serving. Can be kept warm for up to 4 hours in slow cooker on warm setting.
