Ingredients
- 1 small head green cabbage, shredded (about 6 cups)
- 1 large carrot, peeled and grated
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seed (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Large mixing bowl
- Small mixing bowl
- Whisk
- Vegetable peeler and grater
- Knife and cutting board
Steps
- Prepare the Vegetables: Shred the cabbage and grate the carrot. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
- Make the Dressing: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, sugar, celery seed (if using), salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Toss the Salad: Pour the dressing over the shredded cabbage and grated carrot. Toss everything together until the vegetables are well coated with the dressing.
- Chill and Serve: Cover the coleslaw and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld together. Serve cold as a side dish.
