Ingredients
- 1 lb asparagus, trimmed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Zest and juice of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

- Large skillet
- Wooden spoon

Steps
- Heat the oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Cook the asparagus: Add the trimmed asparagus to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, tossing occasionally, until tender but still crisp.
- Add lemon and serve: Remove the skillet from heat. In the skillet toss the asparagus with lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately as a bright and flavorful side dish.
